So, you're thinking of getting the Kenwood DMX9021S, great! Perhaps we can help you make the decision by looking over some of the important factors that may help with the decision making process.

1. Budget

It's hard for most average persons to not consider this. If you don't fall in this category then you can skip this. The kenwood DMX9021S is at a price point where only the well off can buy it without giving it a second thought. However, for some of the techies and audiophiles may also consider saving up for this model as it will satisfy your needs with Wireless Apple CarPlay and also Hi Res audio. Then, there may also be those who fall in the buy first, think later category. Who are we to judge??? 

If budget is an issue, then you can instead consider the Kenwood DMX8521S or the DMX7522S which are priced cheaper. Cheaper, not cheap, let's not kid ourselves.

2. I still carry around DVD and CD's

This one is easy. If you are old school and feel bad that your DVD and CD investment is going to waste, then you should consider DDX models instead of DMX models.

• DDX - With DVD/CD playability
• DMX - Without DVD/CD playability.

If you opt for DMX models, it isn't the end of the world. Just convert your DVD/CD's into digital files and plug in a hard disk to the USB port.

If you want to play DVD/CD, the alternative to the DMX9021S is the DDX9019S.

3. HD Display

Now, this is a consideration that will be a deciding factor when making the decision between this DMX9021S and DMX8521S. Not only is the display HD, but you can also opt for a HD reverse camera for this particular unit. From what we can tell, this seems to be the only difference between the two models. Although the screen is listed as being 0.2 inches smaller on the DMX9021S, we think this is hardly noticeable to affect the decision making between the two models. So if HD display is your thing, then this is the model to go for.
